SPRING BREAK PHOTO CONTEST
Bryan ISD employees are invited to submit a photo of themselves doing something interesting during your Spring Break vacation to info@bryanisd.org by 12 p.m. April 10 with “PHOTO CONTEST” in the subject line of the email. Please include a 1-3 sentence caption of what you are doing in the photo in the body of your email.
The winner will be announced in the next newsletter and will receive $50 worth of Chick-fil-A gift cards. One entry per person and one photo per entry. The photo must be safe for work and will be shared in the April edition of Inside Bryan ISD.

- Tonight: Student Acting at its Finest – What are you doing tonight? At the One Act Play Showcase 7 p.m. at the Rudder High School Auditorium, you can catch two great performances-in-one from Rudder and Bryan High’s theatre programs. Donations can be given to each program at the door. Click here for more information.
- Tomorrow: Color Guard State Championships – Bryan High’s color guard will perform at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Texas Color Guard State Championships at Reed Arena. Let’s support our hometown squad! The JV winter guard (pictured in the pink bows) were named the TCGC Scholastic Regional A Red Division Champions last weekend.
- April 7: βYouβre killin’ me, Smalls!β – Raise money for Bryan ISD’s Hope’s Locker and College Station ISD’s Chrissy’s Closet by watching Sandlot 2 p.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, April 7 at the Queen Theatre. You heard that right, its a raising money for a great cause while watching a classic summer-is-around-the-corner movie at the same time extravaganza! Come in your best baseball attire.

April 7: Community Spring Fest – First United Methodist is bringing FREE Food, Music, Bounce Houses, and Blue Ribbon Pie Contest to Sue Haswell Park 3 p.m.-6 p.m. April 7. A food collection will be taken up for the local food pantry. Bring your lawn chairs, picnic blankets, friends, and family for a fun day celebrating our community! Click here for more information.
April 12: Glow-in-the-Dark Egg Hunt – Who said egg hunts are just for kids? The City of College Station’s free ages 18+ egg hunt at Wolf Pen Creek Park will feature lawn games, a selfie booth, joy jumps and music from the 1980sβ2000s. The event begins at 7 p.m. and the egg hunt starts at 9 p.m. Guests may bring their own refreshments. Coolers must be 48 quarts or smaller. Alcohol, glass containers and pets are not allowed. Click here for more information.- April 13: Free Gumbo! – Enjoy complimentary gumbo at the Wixon Valley Gumbo Cookoff 12:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at the Wixon Valley City Hall (9500 East State Hwy 21 Bryan, TX 77808). Anyone can get a free single sample of gumbo from every participating gumbo team. For a $10 donation, you become a VIP and can sample all the gumbo you want while supplies last.
- April 13: One Day, Two Art Fairs! – Experience the art from student artists at schools across Bryan ISD 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 13 at Bryan High School. Then head Downtown to experience amazing local art and music in one of the best downtown’s in Texas at the 10th Annual Downtown Bryan Street & Art Fair 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
- April 13: Rudder Rangerette Spring Show & Mini Clinic – Your child can dance with the Rudder RangeRettes Saturday, April 13! Each dancer will get to learn a routine, play games, receive a T-Shirt and perform at the RangeRettes Spring Show. Click here for more information. Bryan High Shy-Annes Spring Show – All Bryan ISD Employees will receive free admission at the Sy-Annes’ Spring Show 7 p.m. April 13 at the Bryan ISD Performing Arts Center. Nine Neal Elementary in Bryan ISD students presented at Columbia University in the City of New York during their Spring Break! At a conference of technology and education leaders from around the world, fourth-graders from Bryan ISD presented tech-infused science projects. The trip was made possible thanks to the help of Texas A&M College of Architecture, Research at Texas A&M, the new Texas A&M University Institute of Technology Infused Learning, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church & numerous individual donors. REMEMBERING PRESIDENT GEORGE H.W. BUSH
Viking Baseball will be hosting President George Bush 41 night at the Bryan High baseball field on 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 12. The night will honor the legacy and life of President George H.W. Bush. Prior to the game, the director of the Bush Library museum will throw out the first pitch. The team will present him with a commemorative hat and jersey that will be displayed at the President George H.W. Bush Presidential Library Center.
