A ‘Fresh New Do’

Before this school year, the Davila Middle School in Bryan ISD Band had never achieved the UIL “Sweepstakes” in both the symphonic & wind ensembles competitions in the same year.

This year, Eric Cadondon, assistant band director, sought to change that mark. So he told his students that if they received both awards, he would let them shave his head.
Well, it must have worked because the Davila Band received a Sweepstakes in both categories! Eric, a man of his word, received a fresh new bald haircut as a result.

Kudos to Eric, for your bravery & willingness to sacrifice any vanity you might have for your students’ success!

Healthy Heroes

Our amazing School Nutrition team was honored at the last Board Meeting for the amazing job they did to keep our students happy and healthy during the pandemic. In a role reversal, they were handed a meal and their own Bryan ISD lunch box. Thank you, Bryan ISD School Nutrition!

ON TO THE NEXT CHAPTER…

Debbie Richards

Thanks to Debbie Richards, assistant director of secondary curriculum & instruction, for her 42 years of service to Bryan ISD! She’s impacted so many lives through those years, and we’re so thankful for all of them!

Debbie’s friends, former students and colleagues are happy for the time they’ve spent with her and they celebrated it with a special drive-by parade.

*View More Photos from the parade tomorrow (June 2) on Bryan ISD social media channels. (facebook.com/BryanISDinstagram.com/bryan.isdtwitter.com/BryanISD)

Steve Peterson

Steve Peterson’s team hosted a retirement party in his honor for his years of faithful service as Bryan ISD’s director of maintenance & operations. At the party, Steve was presented with an Oklahoma State-themed Cornhole set, and his crew and colleagues fired up the smoker behind the Auxiliary Services Building and served up fresh barbeque. Best wishes on your next chapter, Steve!

Thank You

This year, Bryan ISD is honoring our retirees on the campus they work at every day. Thank you to everyone retiring this year who has contributed to the success of Bryan ISD students!

WINNER, WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER!

Terri Littlejohn, Long Intermediate music teacher, didn’t win this luxury yacht, but she did win $50 worth of Chick-fil-A for randomly selected in our youtube.com/bryanisd random drawing! Congrats, Terri!

WE DID IT!

Terri was randomly selected as a winner from our YouTube subscribers as the winner of The Great $50 YouTube Giveaway last month, but she was NOT the 1,000th subscriber of the channel. That honor reportedly goes to the man below. We’re not sure who he is, but witnesses say they’ve often seen him behind the lens of a large camera around Bryan ISD. If you see this man, please give him a firm, grateful handshake. Or a nice elbow bump if that’s still your fancy these days.

Don’t leave yet. Please take a few minutes to take Inside Bryan ISD’s Year-End Pop Quiz survey…
