IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

CONVERSATIONAL SPANISH OPPORTUNITY

Spaces are available with the approval of caraballo@tamu.edu. The first class is 7:30 p.m. Feb. 8 in Wehner Room #113 at Texas A&M’s Mays Business School. New participants are welcome. The class will review the last semester’s material and move forward from that point. The auditorium is large and students will be social-distanced. View the linked flyer above for additional details.

A PASSION PROJECT

February is the month of love, and we’d like to celebrate by sharing your love stories. Email newsletter@bryanisd.org to tell us the unique way you met your significant other. Include when and where you met your other half along with any other relevant details you think we should know. Also, please attach 1-3 photos of you together around the time you met and a recent photo.

KUDOS

Two Bryan ISD employees shined bright on a very big stage as Spanish broadcasters for Texas A&M Football on La Jefa 102.7 FM last season. Michel Gonzalez, Kemp-Carver Elementary second-grade teacher joined Alejandra Dorbecker, Long Intermediate life skills teacher, on the radio broadcast.

Alejandra made history by becoming the first woman to be part of an A&M home broadcast team in any language, according to WTAW. Congrats, Alejandra!

Pedro Luna, the team’s play-by-play announcer has an additional connection to the Bryan ISD Family as he graduated from Bryan High in 1986 and is a brother of Enrique Luna, Bryan High head softball coach, and Carlos Luna, Bonham PE teacher.

Know a Bryan ISD employee who deserves recognition in the Kudos section? Please submit the name of the person and the reason they deserve recognition to info@bryanisd.org with “KUDOS” in the subject line.

TOGETHER AGAIN

In case you missed it, St. Joseph Health reached an agreement with Blue Cross Blue Shield Texas on a new contract. This means all BCBSTX policyholders became in-network at all St. Joseph Health facilities as of January 8, 2021. And, patients who had care provided by St. Joseph Health on or after December 17, 2020, will have access to in-network benefits.

BRYAN ISD LIVES UNITED

In the middle of a pandemic, Bryan ISD raised an impressive $7,544.97 in this year’s United Way Workplace Campaign.

Your donations will support the United Way of Brazos Valley’s 22 Partner Agencies below. Thank You!
