OUR KNIGHTS IN SHINING BRYAN ISD GEAR
HUGE thanks to Bryan ISD’s dedicated maintenance, custodial & technology teams. During the winter storm, they worked in freezing cold weather, keeping school pipes, tech equipment & campuses in a solid condition so students could go to school this week. And, they continued to work throughout the week to maintain our schools. Our maintenance team worked from early in the morning until late at night responding to issues on a moments notice, and working quickly and efficiently to minimize damage. While many school districts stayed closed through much of this week, Bryan ISD was able to open our doors on Monday thanks to their incredible work.
Additional thanks go to all staff in all other departments who helped get Bryan ISD back in working order to continue our mission of educating students. Every moment is precious, and you continue to go above and beyond to fulfill our Children First. Always. vision.
BLACK HISTORY MONTH
NEW ADVENTURES
The winter storm brought devastation to our community and many others. Following February’s Essential 8 trait of Optimism, many employees made the best of it the best way could.
An Old Favorite
Kate Jensen, SFA English/language arts teacher, used the time to introduce one of her favorite childhood books to her son Dayton, a Ross student. She read The Indian in the Cupboard, by Lynne Reid Banks to him in her newly purchased SFA PTO hoodie.
Snow School
Tommy Roberts, Bryan Collegiate principal, took his kids to their snow-covered schools to enjoy the rare event.
SOCIAL MEDIA SPOTLIGHT
Congratulations to Bonham Elementary for achieving 1,000 likes on its Facebook page. On a daily basis, the school profiles the amazing stories that walk through its hallways. Special thanks to Carlos Luna, Bonham PE teacher, for frequently telling Bonham’s story in a compelling way.
WINNER, WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER!
Christopher Almanza, Bryan ISD plumber, didn’t win a Valentine’s getaway in a heart-filled meadow, but he won $50 worth of Chick-fil-A food in last month’s Where’s That?!? newsletter contest. Congrats, Christopher!
