    BISD exited the following number of EL scholars in previous school years:<\/p>\n

    2015 – 86 scholars<\/p>\n

    2016 – 178 scholars<\/p>\n

    2017 – 284 scholars<\/p>\n

    2018 – only 67 scholars<\/span><\/p>\n

    Scholars were not exited for the following reasons:<\/p>\n

    Failure to Pass STAAR Reading – 6 scholars<\/p>\n

    Failure to Pass STAAR Writing – 54 scholars<\/p>\n

    With the introduction of the Listening and Speaking portions of the test\u00a0online.<\/span><\/h5>\n

    Failure to rate Advanced High onTELPAS Listening – 36 scholars<\/p>\n

    Failure to rate Advanced High on TELPAS SPEAKING –<\/span> 240 scholars<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Are we\u00a0intentionally creating a learning environment that requires our <\/em>scholars to speak, using academic language?<\/em><\/h1>\n
