{"id":554,"date":"2018-10-12T17:20:56","date_gmt":"2018-10-12T22:20:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.bryanisd.org\/textribune\/?p=554"},"modified":"2018-10-12T17:20:56","modified_gmt":"2018-10-12T22:20:56","slug":"october-blues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bryanisd.org\/textribune\/2018\/10\/12\/october-blues\/","title":{"rendered":"October Blues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you are looking to avoid the October Blues, here are some tips:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Stick to the basics<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>greet\u00a0students at the door with a <strong>smile&#8211;ALL students<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>CHAMP<\/strong> everything&#8211;reset as needed<\/li>\n<li>find the <strong>good<\/strong>&#8211;provide positive feedback on a 5 to 1 ratio<\/li>\n<li>Check for <strong>ID&#8217;s<\/strong> at the door and <strong>dress code violations<\/strong> at the door&#8211;the more consistent you are with simple things like dress code, the more consistent students will believe you will be in class<\/li>\n<li>Continue to be\u00a0<strong>active<\/strong> in the hallway, not just present&#8211;motivate students to get to class on time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>MINIMIZE movement when jobs can be assigned<\/strong>.
