Money Week 2019 Art and Essay Contest

To celebrate Money Smart Week (March 30 – April 6) and to promote Personal Financial Literacy, the Bank on Brazos Valley Coalition has generously extended an exclusive invitation to all Bryan ISD K-12 students.

Students have the opportunity to participate in either an Art (K-4) or Essay Writing (5-12) contest. Cash prizes will be awarded to all 1st place winners.  This year, these prizes will be awarded on campus. Winning artwork and essays along with a picture of each contest winner will be displayed at City Hall during Money Smart Week.  After display, winning entries will be returned to home campuses.

Action Items:

  1.  Please follow this link to access the appropriate contest guidelines for your school.
  2. Make a decision on how your campus will make this opportunity available to students and document your decision here.  Ideas are included in the FAQ at the bottom of the document.
    • Campuses will be provided with several posters to help advertise the contest (mailed out February 15)
    • Campuses will be provided with 50 copies of the contest rules and judging criteria in a student-friendly format (mailed out February 15)
    • If you have questions, please document them on the table in the link above (#1).
  3. Share this news with your staff and students!  Be sure to include a timeline for when entries are due to you (or a campus designee).
  4. Select first round “winners” and deliver entries with correct submission forms to Lauren Wooldridge at BISD Admin no later than March 21, 2019.
    • 50 submission forms will be provided to each campus.  These short forms will include all the appropriate student information so that entries are entered into the correct judging contests.
  5. Tentatively save the date (March 28 or 29) for campus presentations to winners.

Thank you for your participation in this contest.  Last year’s entries were tremendous and I cannot wait to display this year’s talent!
