BISD Education Foundation Grants

 Teachers Grant Guidelines

Purpose: To provide funding for student educational enrichment programs for the classroom and/or for larger groups of students within the District.

Submission Date: Applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. on October 5, 2020. Late applications will not be accepted.  

Implementation Period: Grant Patrol will be awarding in October for implementation during the 2020– 2021 school year.

Selection Criteria:

Priority will be given to programs designed to involve one or more of the following areas:

  • Incorporating alternative learning strategies;
  • Representing creative teaching ideas;
  • Representing innovative approaches to the accomplishment of objectives;
  • Motivating students and activating their eagerness to be life-long learners.
  • Sound evaluation procedures must be incorporated in the proposal

Selection Process:

  • Application forms are available on the Bryan ISD Education Foundation website. Technology items must be compatible with District guidelines and approved by Executive Director of Technology.
  • Print a copy of each for your principal to sign.
  • Scan and send to h.francis@bryanisd.org.
  • Applications will be screened for the degree of compatibility with District goals, existing programs, and representation of best practices, and processed by a grant judging committee.
  • The Foundation Grants and Projects Committee will make the final determination of grants to be funded.

Guidelines:

  • Grant funds may not be used for:
    • Staff salary or personal honorarium for the applicant,
    • Expansion and/or maintenance of previous grants
    • Field trips
    • Items included in regular budgetary funds (school supplies, kit replacement items, snacks, T-shirts, etc.)
  • Grant proceeds must be encumbered by November 16, 2020; otherwise, money will be returned to the Bryan ISD Foundation.
  • Only one grant per teacher and/or one grant per grade-level team on a campus will be awarded.
  • Use size 10 font to enter your information.
  • If this proposal represents a request from a group of teachers, select one person and enter that name as “Contact Person for Grant.”

Responsibilities of Grant Recipients:

  1. Use the award as approved in the grant proposal.
  2. Submit final evaluation of grant by May 7, 2021.
  3. Share successful ideas in staff development sessions if asked.
  4. Contact the Bryan ISD Communications Office when you have items or activities that might be of interest to the community.  We like to brag!
  5. Invite Bryan ISD Education Foundation Board Members to visit your classroom during implementation when appropriate.
