Happy FALL! With the cooler weather it is time to focus on Fall Benchmarks. The Fall testing schedule has been provided in an earlier edition of the Texan Tribune and all tests are posted on the Davila Faculty Calendar. Next Wednesday, October 23 the two grade levels will meet to “draft” testing groups for the year. This moves quickly so come prepared with a piece of paper to keep count of students selected. The groups selected pretty much stay the same unless the student accommodations change or we have personal issues that pop up.
Teachers who need to attend the draft in order to select students for regular groups are:
GRADE 7: Brown, Spencer, K. Jones, Derkowski, Baker, Foster, Compton, Sodorff, O’Neal, Hinojosa, Matas, Newell, Pearce, Ratliff, Dorsey, Early
GRADE 8: Schulz, Housley, Lys, Sanford, Brewer, Quiros, Hernandez, Loyd, Lander, DeVries, Croes, Zorn, Messer, Arnivar
If your name does not appear in the draft list above you have been assigned to a specific group or location already. Do not worry as everyone has a job. We will be posting information in the LiveBinder at this link FALL BENCHMARKS next week.
Training for the Fall Benchmark Tests will be differentiated to meet the needs of our staff.
- Link for Online Training will be sent to returning faculty next week for their review and to take the required assessment. Returning Para Professionals are good to go.
- New Teachers and new Para Professionals will attend a face-to-face training on Friday, October 25 in the Reveille Room. Choose any period of the day to attend, however, there will not be training before or after school.
Remember that testing is like an athletic game. You must practice like you are going to play/test. This is the reason we will practice just like we are taking STAAR.
