I’m excited to share a new opportunity for all educators: the Bryan I.S.D. Leadership Academy. The purpose of the Bryan I.S.D. Leadership Academy (BLA) is to develop leaders who are able to improve student outcomes throughout Bryan I.S.D. The BLA is open to any educator in Bryan I.S.D. and is not limited to principals, assistant principals, directors, aspiring principals, instructional coaches, or teachers; rather, it is open to all!!!!!! The BLA is also structured to encourage the personal continuous growth of participants and to broaden leadership perspective. Not all who participate in the BLA will obtain a new formal leadership title in the organization, but their expanded leadership perspective and informal leadership presence will benefit both the organization and themselves. Increasing the capacity of BISD employees to lead and manage others, align vision and goals, communicate effectively, influence and empower, develop themselves and others, and to create a sustainable learning culture are also key outcomes of the BLA. A final desired outcome for the BLA includes expanding the pool of qualified leadership applicants and increased efficiency in the development, implementation, and monitoring process for projects managed at all levels in the organization. For this season, the BLA will replace our Aspiring Principals Academy.
I have included a link for a quick application that must be completed no later than September 16, 2019, 6:00 pm. Before any interviews are scheduled, all applications will be approved by your principal. We will forward your name and application to your principal for approval. Once the application is approved by the principal, interviews will be set up the week of September 19-24, either in person or on the phone. The interview will not exceed 15 minutes and all applicants will be informed either way. The dates of the academy are below and your attendance is expected unless extenuating circumstances arise.
