In an effort to speed up our morning drop-off lines and reduce tardies, I’ve been reviewing our video from multiple angles. I have found two common patterns that we need your help with to make this faster for everyone. Feel free to watch this sped-up video as an example of what I’m referring to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Students should be getting out of their cars once your car reaches the red ramp at the sidewalk on the right (after the handicapped-accessible parking spots). If you watch, most students are not getting out until they reach the front door. This is a delay in precious minutes. They can walk, even in cooler temperatures. Please help them collect their belongings as soon as you enter the parking lot, then they should get out as soon as the cars are stopped after you’ve made the turn into the front of the school. They can walk immediately to the sidewalk and up the path into the school. This will help us keep the cars moving faster.<\/li>
  2. Each day, we have a consistent lag in cars around 7:20-7:30 (you’ll see it here around the 7:25-7:30 mark). Then traffic picks up again as we get close to the tardy bell ringing at 7:35. Doors open at 7:00 and we ask that you arrive as early as possible so we don’t have a break in movement. If you are here, we’ll keep you moving to get you in quickly.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Please trust that we are trying everything to help speed up this process. Also, while we can’t change the number of families who choose to drop off their children in the mornings, we can encourage you all to access our buses – even in cooler temperatures, students will never be marked tardy if they arrive by bus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
