Hello Rayburn Families!

Can you believe we are only two weeks away from Thanksgiving break? Wow, it’s gone furiously fast. We are ready for fall and all the fun that comes with this cooler (hopefully) season! Here is some info to get us through the next two weeks:

  • If your child participates in Orchestra or Band, make sure you mark your calendars for their fun nights. Orchestra is tonight and band is coming in December.
  • Picture retakes are on our calendar too. If your student was absent when we took our first round, they will have their photo for the yearbook taken on Dec. 2nd. Ordering info will come soon. If your child already took theirs during the first round but you were unhappy with your results, send the packet back with them on this day and they can retake them one more time. All photos from the packet must be included if being returned.
  • Due to our large lunches, we do not have a family Thanksgiving meal at Rayburn. There is just not enough seating. However, you are welcome to come visit any day for lunch with your child. Just ask them what lunch they are and come a little early with your ID to get checked in. 5th grade A lunch is @ 10:34-11:04; 5th grade B lunch is @ 11:14-11:44; 6th grade C lunch is at 11:57-12:27; 6th grade D lunch is at 12:37-1:07. Students will be enjoying our traditional Thanksgiving meal options on Nov. 10th & 11th and will be served turkey with cornbread dressing, sweet potato casserole, green beans & fresh fruit. Don’t worry, if they aren’t turkey fans, they can have steak fingers as the 2nd option for Thursday and chicken nuggets on Friday.
  • 6th graders are going on a field trip to our BISD CTE center to learn about all the amazing educational paths and career paths available to students today! Permission slips must be returned by FRIDAY, 11/11 in order to participate! Also, participation is behavior-dependent. If students receive a behavior referral the week prior to the trip or are placed in DMC, they may not be able to participate, depending on the issue. Administrators will make the final determination. Students who do not participate, will remain on campus during this time and work on an alternate activity.

¡Hola Familias de Rayburn!

¿Puede usted creer que estamos a sólo dos semanas de vacaciones de Acción de Gracias? WOW, se ha ido furiosamente rápido. Estamos listos para el otoño y toda la diversión que viene con esta estación más fresca (esperemos)! Aquí está una cierta información para conseguirnos a través de las próximas dos semanas:

  • Si su hijo participa en orquesta o banda, asegúrese de marcar sus calendarios para sus noches divertidas. La orquesta es esta noche y la banda vendrá en diciembre.
  • Las retomas de imágenes también están en nuestro calendario. Si su estudiante estuvo ausente cuando tomamos nuestra primera ronda, ellos tendrán su foto para el anuario tomada el 2nd de diciembre. La información sobre pedidos llegará pronto. Si su hijo ya tomó el suyo durante la primera ronda, pero usted no estaba contento con sus resultados, envíe el paquete de vuelta con ellos en este día y pueden volver a tomarlos una vez más. Todas las fotos del paquete deben ser incluidas si son devueltas.
  • Debido a nuestros grandes almuerzos, no tenemos una comida familiar de Acción de Gracias en Rayburn. Simplemente no hay suficientes asientos. Sin embargo, usted es bienvenido a visitar cualquier día para almorzar con su hijo. Sólo pregúnteles qué almuerzo son y venga un poco temprano con su identificación para que se registre. El almuerzo del 5th grado A es – 10:34-11:04; el almuerzo del 5th grado B es – 11:14-11:44; el almuerzo del 6th grado C es a las 11:57-12:27; el almuerzo del 6th grado D es a las 12:37-1:07. Los estudiantes disfrutarán de nuestras opciones de comida tradicional de Acción de Gracias el 10th y 11th de noviembre y se les servirá pavo con aderezo de pan de maíz, cazuela de batata, frijoles verdes y fruta fresca. No se preocupe, si no son fanáticos del pavo, pueden tener dedos de carne como la opción de 2nd para el jueves y nuggets de pollo el viernes.
  • Los estudiantes del 6th grado van en un viaje de campo a nuestro centro CTE de BISD para aprender sobre todos los caminos educativos y carreras disponibles para los estudiantes hoy! ¡Los permisos deben ser devueltos antes DEL VIERNES 11/11 para poder participar! Además, la participación depende del comportamiento. Si los estudiantes reciben una referencia de comportamiento la semana antes del viaje o son colocados en DMC, es posible que no puedan participar, dependiendo del asunto. Los administradores tomarán la determinación final. Los estudiantes que no participen, permanecerán en el campus durante este tiempo y trabajarán en una actividad alternativa.
