Note from our Athletic Coaches

Message for our 6th graders going into athletics next year:

Students who will be entering the 7th grade and intend to participate in athletics (including cheerleading) during the 2020-2021 school year will need a Pre-Participation Physical Exam (PPE) prior to participation.  Bryan ISD encourages students to obtain a PPE from their Primary Care Physician (PCP) as they are most familiar with the student’s medical history.  If the student has a history of Asthma, Seizures, Diabetes or Severe Allergies which may require an EpiPen, an emergency action plan is required from the student’s PCP prior to participation in athletics.  Bryan ISD typically hosts a physical event for student-athletes who are unable, or otherwise choose not to obtain their PPE from their own physician.  However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we do not have an event scheduled and are uncertain if this will be possible at this time.  We are currently working on potential options, if an event is scheduled at a later date the information will be posted on the Bryan ISD Athletics webpage, bryanisdsports.net as well as with local media outlets.

The most current UIL PPE form, as well as any necessary emergency action plans are available on the bryanisdsports.net webpage.  Students and parents are also required to complete two online participation forms prior to participation.  All of the above mentioned forms and a link to the online forms can be accessed by going to bryanisdsports.net and choosing Resources then Participation Resources and Info.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Josh Woodall, Assistant Director of Athletics and Head Athletic Trainer by email at josh.woodall@bryanisd.org
