People are always asking me what it is like to be running a school during a pandemic. Starting out, I must be honest, it was a little stressful to ensure all of the safety details that are necessary were in place and ready to implement by the time the building opened. All of the summer planning was beneficial and I feel we have so many great procedures in place to ensure safety while also giving students the full educational experience of learning and also interacting with their peers.
A pro is that we are healthier by wearing masks, distancing and sanitizing the hands. We have fewer students out due to illness. A con of course is that our parents and volunteers are not allowed on campus. Since we have to work through that obstacle I hope that you will find other ways to support teachers and students by responding to teacher communication, participating in fundraisers, and ensuring your child is participating online or consistently attending school.
This school year encompasses many opportunities for learning and growth. Thank you for joining us on this adventure and know that we are here as your partners in education.
