I was so excited to see so many of our online students attend our virtual assembly on Friday the 28th. We have also started having morning announcements via Zoom. They start at 7:25am. Here is the link if your child would like to attend. It is about 10 minutes long and may help your child feel more connected to school if he/she is working from home.
Please make sure you have signed up for Class Dojo. This is how we frequently communicate with parents either individually, whole class or whole school. You can also communicate with support staff, myself and Mrs. Garza-Ramirez through this App. We like the fact that it is private to only Henderson families unlike Facebook, which is open to the public. Please download the DoJo App and follow the directions to get logged in or look for an invitation from your child’s teacher.
A reminder to online students. There must be daily interaction with teachers or completion of an assignment to be counted present. The learning objectives and grades are the same for both online and face to face students. It is critical that this first 6 weeks is considered a priority at home so that students are not further behind when they return. Let’s keep in frequent communication about each child’s progress and work together to make this 6 weeks the best yet!
The Essential 8 trait for this month is Kindness. Students have lessons on Kindness and learn what it means and how it feels to be kind or to be the recipient of kindness. As always we appreciate your reinforcement of skills learned at school. Your encouragement and engagement in the learning process has a significant impact on your children.
