Principal’s Corner

As we end the 1st 6 weeks and embark on the 2nd, it’s a good time to reflect on processes and procedures in place at school. In businesses and organizations we do this so that we can continually improve in our service to our community. What about you? What about the home? Are things running well and supporting academics? Is there time set aside for children to read or complete homework? What about a quiet place to complete these tasks? Is there time for parents and students to communicate and share about each others day? What about a bed time? Is there a routine? Are students getting the 10 hours of sleep that they need? The structures in the home support the structures at school. Children who come to school well rested, homework completed and on time start out with a positive attitude, confidence and pride. Children who come to school late, homework incomplete and sleepy start the day at a disadvantage. Let’s work to set our children up for success, not failure.

Think about what is working well at home and keep it. Think about what is not working well and tweak it. If there is something that we can do to support you or assist, please contact the school. We want to partner with you to ensure each student is successful.
