English language learners remain the fastest growing population in U.S. public schools, even with more than 6 million currently enrolled. It is expected that by 2025, English language learners will make up 25 percent of the U.S. public school population, creating an unprecedented demand for ESL teachers.
We are happy to announce that The Bilingual Department will be hosting an ESL Certification Course featuring, Dr. Jennifer Holling. The course will be held in the TESC Boardroom on January 21, 2017, from 8:30 – 3:30. Click here to register for this free course!
Upon passing the ESL exam and obtaining certification, the Bilingual and ESL Department will reimburse teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators for the cost of the ESL certification exam, the cost of a preparation course (if taken at Region VI), and the cost of adding the certification to SBEC. By becoming ESL certified, teachers will have the knowledge and tools to better serve English language learners and meet their academic and language needs.
