6th Six Weeks

I cannot believe we are wrapping up the year! It seems like only yesterday that we were walking back into a building that was vacated last March. While this has been an eventful year, we have worked to ensure your child continues to grow academically and socially.

Continue to partner with us for the remaining few weeks to finish this year strong!

ATTENDANCE
Make sure your child is at school EVERY day and ALL day.
If your child is absent, complete assignments on Schoology.

ROUTINES
With time change, it’s difficult to maintain bedtime routines.
Make sure your child is getting enough sleep for a successful day at school.

COMMUNICATION
Stay in contact with the school and your child’s teacher(s).
Check grades on HAC and check phone, email, and text messages.

Attendance Matters!

Please make every effort to have your child at school
EVERY day and ALL day.

School Hours

School hours are from 7:35 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. Most Wednesdays are early release at 2:10 p.m. The building opens at 7:00 a.m. for breakfast.

How much school is your child missing?

  • 10 minutes late every day = 30 hours / year
  • Early release every Friday = approximately 120 hours / year
  • Absent 1 day per week = 275 hours / year

Attendance Impacts High Stakes Testing

Research shows that children who are in school most of the time do better on state tests. Studies also show that kids who are absent more often score lower on state tests.

Is Your Child TOO Sick for School?

  • COVID: loss of taste/smell, shortness of breath, cough, fever
  • CLOSE CONTACT: with confirmed COVID case
  • FEVER: a temperature of 100.4 or higher
  • VOMITING or DIARRHEA: must be free from both for 24 hours
