Getting to Know Us!

Mindy Maly, RN – Bryan Collegiate Nurse

Nurse Maly is a born and raised Texan.  She has been a nurse for 18 years, 16 of them devoted to children.  She came to Bryan ISD in 2006.  Since being a school nurse Mindi has worked with students at Carver Early Childhood Center, Stephen F. Austin Middle School, Navarro Elementary, and Travis B. Bryan High School. Now, after taking some time off for education, Nurse Maly is excited to be back and joining us here at Bryan Collegiate!  Some of the student projects Mindi has enjoyed being a part of include founding and facilitating R.A.W. (Readers Are We)- an after school student book club at SFA to give students a place to go, promote reading and exploration, and reassure parents their children had a safe place to be until they could be picked up.  She served as fundraising chair for Odyssey Academy and advisor for Bryan High Key Club.  She’s led various campus projects advocating for and implementing ADA and safety renovations.  She also helped to create our district’s mission statement when serving on our district’s Strategic Planning Committee.  Mindi is motivated by serving our community with a specific passion for providing health counseling and education to adolescents. She and her husband have three children, themselves.  When not at school she may be backpacking, traveling, or trying new foods!
