On September 27th a group of Bryan Collegiate Robotics students attended a tour of A&M’s self sufficient power grid. The A&M Utilities and Energy Services took the students through their main power station where they saw three different turbines in action and learned about how A&M powers their campus with electricity and steam. The BCHS Robotics team will take this experience into their competition this year which is titled “Off the Grid” where they will build a robot to assist linemen in repairing a power grid after a national disaster.
